The Heart Brand Video Lab is a weekly rhythm for people over 40 who've spent a career getting good at something, and haven't put a single video out about it.
You always know what to do this week. And you're never more than seven days from asking me about it.
Live Labs every Wednesday, 4–5pm UK
Not what they thought I wanted to hear. What was really in the way.
Three answers came back, over and over.
01
The biggest one by a distance. Roughly a third of them.
"Having ZERO experience: knowing what is Step #1, then 2, then 3."
"I am so overwhelmed and don't know where to start."
"Having a clear path or guide, so it's not just another thing that starts and goes unfinished."
"Paralysis by analysis. I'm addicted to almost."
That last one is the whole thing in four words.
02
About a fifth. And not because they've nothing to say — because they've too much.
"Knowing what my focus should be."
"I can do too many things."
"Reducing a giant tarball of Life down to the next concrete video."
"Second guessing what to focus on."
03
"Limited time, so I need structure."
"Carving out time and energy alongside being quasi full-time carer."
"Finding a rhythm while working."
"Keeping focus and motivation to keep going."
These are real lives. Jobs, businesses, people to look after. Not laziness.
And one more, said quietly, by more people than you'd think:
"Feeling not worthy."
"Fear of looking stupid."
"Camera confidence, despite years of hosting tour groups and talking freestyle for 30 minutes."
Competent in the room. Frozen in front of the lens. If that's you, you're in very large company.
Look at those answers again. Not one of them is a knowledge problem.
Nobody said I don't understand how YouTube works. They said they don't know where to start, what to focus on, or how to keep going.
You've already watched the videos. You could probably explain watch time and retention curves to someone at a dinner party. And there's still nothing on your channel.
That's not a knowledge gap. It's a rhythm gap, and a nobody-to-ask gap.
Another course adds to the first problem and does nothing for the second.
What actually moves people is far more boring than a course, and far harder to find: knowing exactly what you're doing on a Tuesday morning, and having somewhere to take it when you're stuck.
That's the whole Lab. That's all it is.
So you always know what to do. A seven-day kit that gets your channel live and your first video published. Then a one-hour-a-day rhythm that keeps it going.
So you know what to say and how to say it. How to find your subject, write the title, build the thumbnail, tell the story and press record without rewriting it eleven times.
So you're not doing it on your own. Me, live, every Wednesday. Plus a growing library built out of the questions members actually ask.
Not a minimum. A limit.
This is built for people with businesses, jobs, families and people to look after. If it costs you your evenings, it's broken.
The Heart Brand Hour Method™
Five hours a week. One of them with me.
Can't make Wednesday? The recording lands in the Answer Bank and the audio drops into the private podcast the same week. You miss a session, not the point of it.
💡 Monday — Ideas
Capture what's worth making, from your life and your work.
✍️ Tuesday — Titles
Shape emotion into curiosity. The promise before the wrapper.
🎨 Wednesday — Thumbnails
Build the thing that makes someone stop.
🔴 Wednesday, 4–5pm — The Live Lab
Thirty minutes of me showing you what I'm actually running on my own channel this week — what's working, what's failing, what I've changed. Then thirty minutes with the mics open for yours.
🎤 Thursday — Scripts and hooks
HMSTA outlines. LATED stories. Practise the flow.
🎭 Friday — Practise and presence
Rehearse on camera. Build confidence through doing, not thinking.
🧭 THE SYSTEM
Seven days, seven sessions, each with a walkthrough where I take you through it step by step. Day 1 you find your direction. Day 2 your channel goes live. Day 3 you choose one video. Days 4 to 6 you package, script and record it. Day 7 it goes out.
You don't finish the week with notes. You finish it with a published video.
🧭 THE SYSTEM
The weekly rhythm above, in full, with a walkthrough. The thing that turns one video into a channel.
🎯 THE SKILLS
The Four Clusters Your first twelve videos, planned before you start. Positioning, 3AM Questions, Mechanics, Bridge. Three videos each. No more blank page.
The Heart Brand Packaging Formula Titles and thumbnails — the two things that decide whether anyone watches. Includes my title frameworks and thumbnail layouts to work from.
🎯 THE SKILLS
HMSTA Hook, Mindset, Story, Teach, Action. The structure underneath every video I make.
LATED The story tool. Location, Action, Thought, Emotion, Dialogue. Turns "I had a hard time and then it got better" into something somebody remembers on Thursday.
The Anti-Edit Method™ How to perform with enough presence that you barely need to edit. Your face, voice and pauses doing the work instead of software.
The Heart Brand Launch Loop™ What to do after you upload, so publishing becomes a practice rather than a cliff edge.
💜 THE SUPPORT
Thirty minutes inside my own channel. Real numbers, live on screen. The thumbnail that flopped, the hook I rewrote four times, the thing I was certain about that wasn't.
Then thirty minutes, mics open, cameras on. Your title. Your thumbnail. The video sat in drafts you haven't published, and the real reason you haven't.
Not a comment under a video. Not a reply three days later. An actual conversation about your actual channel.
I'm not stood at the front of the room teaching you. I'm sat on the bus next to you, going the same way, showing you what I can see out of my window.
💜 THE SUPPORT
The Answer Bank You ask, it gets answered, and the answer stays. Every Live Lab goes in, every question gets a home. It grows every week because members keep asking better things.
The private podcast The audio of every session, in your own feed. For the Wednesdays you can't make, or the walk you'd rather take it on.
The wins thread Where the first video goes up. Where the first comment, first enquiry, first hundred views get marked. Small, and it matters more than it sounds.
The Lab is new. So I'm not going to show you Lab results, because there aren't any yet, and you'd see through it if I tried.
Here's what I can show you: how I read a channel.
Jon
Trauma coach. Over 40. A few hundred views a video and going backwards.
The problem wasn't effort. He'd drifted off the thing his audience originally came to him for — the subject he was actually known for had quietly disappeared from his channel while he made videos about everything else.
We course-corrected. Same man, same camera, same expertise, pointed back at the thing people wanted from him.
One video to 68,000 views. Email list past 600.
Being straight with you: Jon came through the Heart Brand Blueprint, not the Video Lab. Different product, more intensive, more expensive. I'm showing you this because it's how I look at a channel and what I'll be doing with yours on a Wednesday — not because it's a result the Lab has produced.
When members have results, those go here instead. Until then, this is the honest version.
And me
Thirteen years running a social media agency. Thousands of people coached onto camera — authors, founders, startups, and plenty of people who sat exactly where you are now and were sure they couldn't do it.
Two channels of my own, which I'm still getting wrong in public every week. That's what you'll be watching on Wednesdays.
Not for you if you're already getting consistent views.
You're past this. You need optimisation, not a starting rhythm.
Not for you if you want it done for you.
I'll show you, sit with you and answer anything. I won't make the videos.
Not for you if you won't show up for an hour a week.
The Lab works because you turn up. If you know you won't, save your money — I'd rather tell you that now than take it.
Not for you if you want views for the sake of views.
Nearly everyone here is building something. If you just want a big number, there are faster and emptier ways to get it.
Thirteen years running a social media agency. Before that, a police detective — which taught me more about getting people to talk honestly on camera than any marketing course ever did.
I'm over 40 myself. I know what it's like to have decades of experience and still feel like a beginner holding a phone up at arm's length.
I've coached thousands of people onto camera. Authors, founders, startups, and people with no business at all yet — just a story and a feeling that it should be out in the world.I run two channels of my own, and I still get it wrong regularly. You'll watch me do it on Wednesdays.
There is no algorithm more powerful than alignment. You are the niche. Your past is your product. Everything in the Lab comes from that.

$489/year
No countdown. No closing doors. The price is the price, and it'll be the same next Tuesday.
If you're not sure, start monthly. You'll know inside a fortnight.
You get the 7-Day Starter Kit straight away. Day 1 you find your direction, Day 2 your channel goes live, and by Day 7 you've published a video. Then you come to the next Live Lab and tell me how it went.
The recording goes into the Answer Bank and the audio into your private podcast feed the same week. Nothing's lost.
The Hour Method tells you what to do each day. The Answer Bank holds every question that's been asked. The wins thread is where people put what they've made.
No. The audience over 40 is badly served, and you have thirty years of something that a 22-year-old can't fake. Starting now with real experience beats starting at 25 with none.
Good. That's who this was built for. Everyone in the Starter Kit is starting at the same place.
Your phone. That's genuinely it.
Nearly everyone does at first. I did. If the red button is the actual wall, Courage Before Confidence is built for exactly that — it's included in the annual membership, and available separately if you're on monthly.
Monthly, any time, no conversation required.
No. A course is finished. This is a rhythm with a room attached.
You've known for a while. What's been missing isn't a camera, or a niche, or the right week to begin.
It's a rhythm, and somebody to ask.
Live Labs every Wednesday, 4–5pm UK.
Second Season. No apologies.
